Crochet project: Rose tealight holder

I would like to show my latest finished project: tealight holders. I thought the colors might fit well for the Christmas theme. It’s a free ravelry pattern from Daniela Herbertz.

I changed a few rounds from the pattern as I was working with a 2.5 mm hook and using the classic Catania yarn. The first round from the pattern has been changed to:

Round 1: Start with a magic ring. Work 16 dc in the ring and close with a slip stitch in the first dc. (16)

Round 2: Work 2 dc in each dc from the first round and close with a slip stitch in the first dc. (32)

Round 3: Sc in the same stitch where the slip stitch is made. Chain 5, * skip 3 dc, sc in the next dc, chain 5 *, repeat from * to * 6 more times and close with a slip stitch in the first sc. (8 loops)

Continue with round 2 from the original pattern.

I used a 4 cm diameter tealight to fit in the rose.
